Praise & Thanksgiving Series-Part 3

In this episode, Jamie commences an exposition of the seven principal Hebrew terms for praise, beginning with yāḏâ* (יָדָה) and zāmar* (זָמַר) and their precise lexical meanings. Although the New Testament contains relatively few explicit exhortations or exemplars concerning corporate worship and praise, the Apostle Paul instructs believers to address one another in psalms (ψαλμοῖς), hymns (ὕμνοις), and spiritual songs (ᾠδαῖς πνευματικαῖς), while singing and making melody (ψαλλόντες καὶ ᾄδοντες) in their hearts to the Lord (cf. Ephesians 5:19, ESV; Colossians 3:16, ESV). These next few programs will reveal what that looks like.
