Sound of Heaven TV | Words Week 4: Shalom (Wholeness) EP04

What is God rescuing you to?

Most of us think shalom means peace: no conflict, no noise, a quiet moment to breathe. But shalom comes from the root shalem, which means to make whole, to make complete, to restore something back to its original design. Shalom isn't the absence of something. It's the presence of everything working the way God designed it to.

In this episode we trace shalom from the garden, where God called creation very good, through Genesis 3, where shalom shattered, all the way to Jesus. "Blessed are the peacemakers" becomes blessed are the shalom makers, the people who see what's broken and help restore it. And when Jesus says "My peace I give you," He isn't handing out a calm feeling. He's giving wholeness.

God isn't hoping you feel a little less stressed. He's actively rebuilding what sin shattered: your relationships, your identity, your purpose. He's not trying to make your life quiet. He's making it whole.
