We all know the story. A man, a boy, a mountain, a knife. Most of us skip past it or turn it into a sermon about giving up the thing you love most. But in Look Again, we read the familiar stories of Scripture inside the world they were written in, and that changes everything.

Abraham came from Ur, in a world where the gods of Mesopotamia and Canaan demanded children. Molech wanted your firstborn. So when God says, "Take your son," Abraham doesn't argue. That is what gods do. Then, with the knife in his hand, the God of Abraham says what no other god in the ancient world ever said: Stop. Do not lay your hand on the boy. Yahweh Yireh, the Lord will see to it. He provides the substitute Himself, on the same mountain where, generations later, the Father would provide the Lamb.

If you were taught a God who demands, takes and tests you through suffering, you were taught something that looks more like Molech than Jesus. The God of Genesis 22 is the God who says stop performing, stop pretending, and let Me in. You don't worship for victory. You worship from it.
