God tells a prophet to marry Gomer, a woman who will not stay faithful. Their children are given names that sound like judgment: God scatters, not loved, not my people. Then Gomer leaves. And when she ends up on the auction block, God says something no reasonable person would say: Go buy her back.

In week two of Look Again, Apostle Johnny Ova walks through Hosea with the history and the Hebrew in view. Fifteen shekels of silver plus barley, the poor man's grain, adds up to thirty shekels, the price of a slave. Hosea scrapes together everything he owns and pays full price for a wife who walked out on him. That is hesed, covenant love that does not break just because we did. It is the word Jesus pointed the religious leaders back to when He said, "Go and learn what this means."

God says a day is coming when His people will call Him Ishi, my husband, and no longer Baal, my master. He does not want a slave. He wants a bride. In Hosea 11 He speaks as a Father whose heart turns over inside Him: "For I am God and not a man." If you have been relating to God out of fear, this message is an invitation to see the face you never let yourself believe was real.
